The well-established Emerge Art Fair takes over the Capitol Skyline Hotel in Southeast DC this weekend, and I’ll be there with my own installation–The Sri Lankan pop up–featuring some good ole, home style rice and curry, Friday through Sunday. As Emerge explores the cutting edge of American art (http://www.emergeartfair.com/), I’ll be showcasing the spices and amazing flavors of the food on which I was raised. Sri Lanka ranks as the top travel destination of 2013. Sri Lankan food somehow fell through the cracks because of a dearth of restaurants in the area, and the entire country, for that matter, but all it takes is one time and you’re hooked. So come down to the Lapidus Restaurant on the first floor, and indulge your taste buds because food is art.
For this menu, which I prepared myself, with the aid of the kitchen staff of the Capitol Skyline Hotel, I used my own blend of spices, Skiz’s Original Roasted & Raw Sri Lankan Curry Powders as well as the freshest ingredients to give you an authentic taste of the Resplendent Isle. This is the next best thing to going there.
